Mercedes-Benz

The new form of dynamics - The X-Class impresses with outstanding performance.

Superb agility

Superb agility

The directly available power is as much a part of the first pickup from Mercedes-Benz as its superb agility and in turn the coordinated tuning of the suspension, steering and drive train. The projecting wheel arches with the wide-tyre wheels not only look impressive, they also contribute with their large track width to the extensive lateral dynamics of the X-Class. In the same way as the nimbly balanced multi-link rear axle suspension.

High-performance braking system

High-performance braking system

The high-performance braking system is equipped with large disc brakes. On the front axle they are internally ventilated. Multiple dynamic handling control systems, such as the Electronic Stability Program® (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS), acceleration skid control system (ASR), Active Brake Assist and the electronic brake distribution (EBD), further improve safety and ride comfort.
The Electronic Traction System provides more traction when pulling away and accelerating by braking the wheels on one side of the vehicle and preventing wheel spin. Even on difficult terrain, on a steep downhill slope, Downhill Speed Regulator (DSR) enables a speed to be set which is maintained using brake interventions.

Traffic Sign Assist and Lane Keeping Assist

Traffic Sign Assist and Lane Keeping Assist.

Equipped with numerous safety features and assistance systems the X-Class can support its driver. Especially in urban traffic, Traffic Sign Assist can provide support by showing speed limits and no-overtaking signs. If the vehicle unintentionally leaves the lane, Lane Keeping Assist warns the driver with a pulsating vibration on the steering wheel – and therefore can help maintain greater attention and safety on long journeys.

Active Brake Assist

Active Brake Assist

Active Brake Assist gives the driver a visual warning if the distance to the vehicle ahead is too small. If a risk of collision is recognised, an initial acoustic warning is issued – if the distance is then not decreased, the system can help the driver with braking or if there is no reaction, autonomously reduce the speed.

ESP® with trailer stabilisation

ESP® with trailer stabilisation

ESP® with trailer stabilisation also offers the highest operational stability when carrying a load or towing a trailer. If weaving is detected when towing a trailer this can be limited through targeted braking of vehicle wheels.
In the worst case scenario, the seven airbags fitted as standard in the X-Class offer the occupants the best possible protection and the Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call system can help radically reduce the time it takes for the emergency services to reach the scene of the accident.
